Day by day

1. Before you flyGet ready

   Once you book, you receive pre-departure information to help you plan your trip, plus help with your Tax File Number application and instructions to open your Australian bank account before you arrive.

   You also get tips on what to pack, what documents to bring and how to get from the airport to your hostel, so you land feeling prepared rather than stressed.

2. Day 1Arrive and check in

   

   Arrive in your chosen city and check in to your hostel. Take the day to rest after your flight, get your bearings and grab some food.

   It is a good chance to meet other travellers staying in the hostel, many of whom are also just starting their working holiday.

3. Day 2Information session

   The information session covers how work, tax, transport and daily life work in Australia, so you know what to expect and what to avoid. You also have a CV and jobs consultation to get your CV ready for Australian employers and plan where to look for work.

   By the end of the day you will know the next steps for getting your first job.

4. Day 3Guided day trip

   

   Join a guided day trip around your arrival city. It is a relaxed way to see the main sights, learn your way around and meet other travellers who are starting out like you.

   Many friendships made on this day carry on for the rest of the working holiday.

5. Day 4Ready to go

   

   Check out of your hostel and start your working holiday. You leave with your paperwork underway, your CV ready and a clear plan for finding work.

   Your TAW job support and Mailbox keep going, so you have help on hand while you settle in.
